Attention all leaders (Akelas):
Youth Protection Training is required for all leaders to be registered with the BSA every two years. While the course may be taken online or in a classroom setting , the classroom version (per Texas law) is required for everyone 18 years of age or older participating in a long-term camp experience in the State of Texas – to include day camp, Cub Scout/Webelos Scout resident camp, summer camp, winter camp, and NYLT. Adults must complete the test with a score of 70% or higher to be considered trained. A copy of each test will be kept in the Council Program Services Office for two years. A special training card with the Course Code will be issued to each person who is trained in Classroom Facilitated Youth Protection Training in 2012 (Youth Protection Guidelines for Adult Leaders and Parents, Texas Code YC06-0014).
